This notice explains what personal information Welcomat collects, why, and what you can do about it. It's written in plain English on purpose.
Who we are
Welcomat is a trading name of Marian Mihaies, a sole trader based in London, United Kingdom. Marian Mihaies is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us about anything in this notice at hello@welcomat.co.uk.
What we collect
- When you email us (directly or using the enquiry form, which only opens your own email app): your name, email address, business name and anything you choose to include in your message.
- When you become a client: the information we need to build and run your website, such as your business details, text, photos and billing details.
This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies, and the enquiry form does not store or send anything by itself.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote (our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us).
- To deliver the work you've asked for, invoice you and provide support (to perform our contract with you).
- To keep records we are required to keep by law, such as accounting records.
We don't sell your information, and we don't add you to marketing lists.
Who else handles it
- Google Workspace provides our email.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and, like any web host, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
- The example websites linked from this site load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when you open them.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as we work together, and financial records for six years, as required by HMRC.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@welcomat.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
